Altar Servers: Altar servers are an integral part of the liturgy. They set up the table for the Eucharist and provide an escort for the presentation of the gifts and assist the presider. Servers should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry them out well and with appropriate reverence. They should have already received 1st Holy Communion for the first time and normally receive the eucharist whenever they participate in the liturgy.
